Mapping cognitive biases in investment decision-making: A bibliometric and systematic review

Cognitive biases fundamentally impact investor decision-making, causing persistent deviations from reasonable financial behaviour. Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and bibliometric analysis are used in this study to provide an integrated viewpoint on the cognitive biases in investing decision making. To ensure transparency and repeatability, 247 documents were retrieved from Scopus using PRISMA, 66 articles were used for systematic literature review using TCCM framework. The bibliometric analysis disclosed a significant increase in research production after 2015 and also citation trend with most globally cited articles. India emerged as the top contributors to publication volume. Investment decision followed by overconfidence are most used keywords, further the study revealed prolific authors, journals and then theoretical background, context, characteristics and methodologies. The future directions were also suggested along with implications that shows study’s contribution to the research field.
